Project description:

Central Luzon was hit by a 6.5 magnitude earthquake on 22 April 2019. The NHCP and the Archdiocese of San Fernando met a day after the calamity happened to discuss the plans to repair, rehabilitate and restore the damaged heritage churches. Initially, the NHCP has committed to conduct immediate repairs in the churches of Lubao and Porac.

To pro-actively protect other churches from further damage, detailed engineering studies will be conducted in the churches of Angeles City and Betis. These will be the basis for the retrofitting and repair of these buildings.

Project description:

The PhilPost seek the NHCP's assistance in the planning and implementation of the massive rehabilitation and restoration of the post office building, built during the American period.  The building has been observed to be structurally unstable and measures to mitigate the infiltration of river water on its foundation is recommended.

Project description:

This American-period neoclassical building has been observed to have structural damage. The MWSS requested the NHCP’s assistance in its restoration. The project will ensure that both architectural and structural integrity of the building be preserved and contribute to a number of historically significant building in the city of Manila.

Project description:

Project description:

This old coral stone building was damaged by the 2013 Bohol earthquake. Due to the lack of funds, the rebuilding of the structure has not been completed. The local government requested the NHCP to help in the restoration of the coral walls and other unreinforced structural components.

Project description:

This development project aims to highlight the monument of Lapu Lapu and the Obelisk of Magellan within a vast local park of the city. The project will also entail a construction of a small exhibition area on the life of the hero, Lapu Lapu and the victory of Mactan over the Spanish colonizers. This project is part of the Philippine Government’s preparation for the 500th anniversary of the victory of our ancestors led by Lapulapu in the Battle of Mactan, and other related events in 1521.

The restoration project aims to stabilize and rehabilitate the old Spanish-period bell tower of the church that has been observed to be structurally unstable. The falling debris of the stone masonry is the utmost concern on the allocation of budget for this church.

Project description:

The NHCP is one of the cultural agencies assigned by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) to restore and preserve World Heritage Sites in coordination with the other stakeholders. The Sta. Maria Church needs structural consolidation, particularly the deteriorated stone walls, the leaning bell tower, and old and crumbling retaining walls of the hill.
