This cultural property was badly hit by Typhoon Rolly in November 2020. The Church of Bato in Catanduanes, an 1800s Spanish colonial coral stone building, is the most preserved heritage church in the province with an imposing view within a sloping terrain and overlooking the grand river. The immediate repairs and restoration needed are the damaged roof, building electrical system, parts of the coral wall façade, and its doors/windows.
