Project description:
The project focuses on the repointing, refinishing, and stabilization of the stone masonry walls made of carved volcanic rocks. Its interior walls, were painted with latex paint years ago. Massive paint removal is one of the most tedious work in the church. The walls in the altar covered with ceramic tiles will be stripped off to address the risig damp. It will be cladded with volcanic stone blocks to harmonize with the rest of the church walls. To address the aethetic aspect of the stripped off walls, which will be mostly grey and black, additional lighting will be installed to illuminate the interiors.
The deteriorated roof sheets, damaged by a typhoon in 2016, will be dismantled and replaced. The old gutter and its stone downspouts will be restored to its proper use.
